 For me, there is nothing better than having on a plate the combination between what can be produced on land and what can be extracted from the sea, it is typical to use lemon juice to give it more flavor and a fresh salad to complete the lunch I'm talking about fried fish and mashed potatoes, yes, it can be a simple dish, but I love it.


Its history is too long to try to tell where it comes from, although it is considered typical of the Mediterranean coast and has so many ways to make it and with which to accompany it that it becomes dizzy, but it is Chilean custom to make this recipe with hake primarily.


The recipe that I know the most and that I use, consists of making a paste with flour, egg, a little lemon, oregano and something else to season and dip fresh fish fillets already cleaned of bones and scales in it, wrapping everything and then Bathe it in breadcrumbs, to make the outside of the fish more crunchy, and proceed to fry it in vegetable oil until it is golden brown.


To make the mashed potatoes, the accompaniment that in my opinion is the best with the fried fish, you have to leave in a pot, the potatoes clean, peeled and diced, and then fill the pot with water until all the potatoes are submerged and add a little salt and put them to cook, after the potatoes are ready they are ground with a little milk, a tablespoon of margarine until there is no lump or piece of potato left.


I love it because it was one of the typical dishes on Sundays as a family, everyone participates in its elaboration because it was time consuming, but it is satisfying to have a freshly made dish and enjoy it with some interesting conversation at the table with the family.


Although fish is a good source of nutrients, eating it fried can cause many problems, that is why it is not very good to eat it very often, and you must always be careful that no spines come out when eating.
